Gender Awareness: Classroom Experiences of Senior High School Students

The goal of education is not just the facilitation academic knowledge but also expansion understanding concepts and issues which impact classroom experiences. This study looked into students’ level awareness gender laws, their perceptions stereotypes, discrimination, equality, views on as experienced in classroom. Participants consisted one hundred (N=101) senior high school students from Lapu-lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. A mixed methods approach was used, a survey protocol focus group discussion. Results show that there moderate laws mandates, disagreed presence discrimination inside classroom, neutral attitude towards tasks perceived equality Thematic analysis revealed five themes: (1) differences behaviors between girls boys classroom; (2) favorable attention given by teachers to than girls; (3) Science/ subjects go beyond gender; (4) equal right learn regardless (5) experiences
